The YWCA Ulster County will be holding their 1st Annual Mother’s Day 5K on Saturday, May 11th, 2013! It’s a day for friendship, family, fun and fundraising! The race will take place throughout Uptown Kingston, starting and ending at the YWCA! The walk/run begins at 10:00 AM, but we will also have a Mini-Miler for kids 10 and under that begins at 9:30 AM.
Everyone can pre-register from now until May 4th, with an entry fee of $12.00 for adults and $10.00 for those 12 and under. Contact or visit the YWCA Ulster County for a registration form, or wait for on-line registration which will be available shortly. The first 250 to register will receive a t-shirt!
The day will be filled with fun family activities after the 5K that will take place on Academy Green. Raffles and prizes will also be available! This fundraiser will help our organization to continue improving the lives of our county’s young women, children, and families by allowing the YWCA to maintain and expand its roster of vital programs to our community. This includes allowing the Early Childhood Learning Center to maintain its NAEYC Accreditation, while helping to expand Girls Inc. programs in the area for school-aged girls and funding services provided to the Children’s Center in Ulster County Family Court, among many others.
This is the YWCA Ulster County’s 90th year of service to the community! We are all very excited about this, and look forward to hopefully making our Inaugural Mother’s Day 5K a success! We’d love to see you there!
