A New Chapter Begins
YWCA Ulster County is entering an exciting new chapter. We congratulate Executive Director Athena Fliakos and thank her for her leadership and dedication in strengthening our campus, expanding programs, and increasing our impact throughout the community. We wish her every success in her next chapter.
We are delighted to welcome Maureen Lashlee as Interim Executive Director. A respected Hudson Valley nonprofit leader and former CEO of Habitat for Humanity of Dutchess County, Maureen brings extensive experience and a strong commitment to mission driven leadership.
As we move forward, our commitment remains steadfast: to eliminate racism, empower women, and promote peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. We are grateful for the continued support of our community and look forward to the opportunities ahead.
A New Space to Grow. The Same Commitment to Childhood.
At the YWCA, we believe childhood should be filled with curiosity, play and discovery. From our youngest infants to our preschoolers, every child deserves a safe, nurturing environment where they can explore, learn and thrive.
We’re excited to announce that our Day Care Program will be moving to Willow Landing, a purpose built childcare center in Ulster Park near Kingston. Designed with input from our educators, the new facility will offer spacious classrooms, dedicated indoor play areas and outdoor playgrounds tailored to infants, toddlers and preschoolers.
This new chapter will give our children and teachers more room to grow, while continuing our commitment to high quality childcare that supports children, families and our wider community.
Our current childcare program remains open while Willow Landing is completed. The grand opening is tentatively scheduled for January 4, 2027.
You’re Invited! Celebrate Our New Community Technology Center
Join YWCA Ulster County and Spectrum Communications for the grand opening and ribbon cutting of our new Community Technology Center.
Made possible by a generous grant from Spectrum and donated labor from Northeast Computers, the center will help bridge the digital divide by expanding access to technology, high speed internet and digital skills training for our community.
